Encouragement for Your Day

     How often when you are in the heat of a situation do you think, “I should write them, call them, or give them my opinion in some way, shape, or form”?  Ask yourself this important question.  How did me giving someone my opinion in a particular matter work for me last time?  It seems to me that 9 times out of 10 what we say to someone isn’t received the way it was intended. 

     The reason our words, ideas, opinions, etc., are not received is because often times we have not gone before God and asked him what He would have us to do in the matter.  Oh yes I am very good at saying that the LORD told me to do this and that and yet the “feeling” of doing this and that was more what caused me to react then actually hearing God in the situation. 

     Lately I have been waiting to hear from God before I act.  What I have found is that when I don’t hear Him speak to my spirit on a matter it isn’t because He is not listening to me it is in fact the opposite.  He is listening to me and He is quite because he wants me to be quiet in the matter as well.  As I practiced this throughout the week I have been amazed to see when I was quiet and didn’t say or do anything God intervened in the situation and the result was amazing.   

     If you have been praying for something for a very long time and you think God is not listening…….He is.  Ask yourself the question, “God, is it me not listening to You?”  Speak LORD in the stillness while I wait on Thee!
